Renewable Energy
A diversified Renewable Energy portfolio
Across Sri Lanka, Aitken Spence Power operates a number of hydro, wind, and solar renewable energy projects that support Sri Lanka’s renewable energy targets, while accelerating decarbonisation.
Our technologically and geographically diversified portfolio is built on the principles of supporting energy security and resilient energy systems in the country.
Hydro
A cluster of small-scale plants delivering 9.15 MW by harnessing Sri Lanka’s abundant hydro resources in the hill country area:
- Branford – Matale (2.5 MW)
- Waltrim – Lindula (1.65 MW)
- Upper Waltrim – Lindula (2.6 MW)
- Elgin – Lindula (2.4 MW)
Solar
Sagasolar Power – Hambantota (10 MW)
As one of the pioneering commercial scale ground mounted solar powered projects, this plant has been delivering clean energy to the national grid since 2016.
Wind
Ace Wind Power – Ambewela (3 MW)
The Ace Wind Power project was commissioned in 2012 and remains one of the few wind power projects in the hill country of Sri Lanka, demonstrating the engineering capability and expertise of the Aitken Spence Power team.
